PC817 Optocoupler IC Dip 4
The PC817 is one of the most widely used phototransistor optocouplers, designed to provide electrical isolation between low-voltage control circuits and high-voltage or noisy environments.
It consists of:
- An infrared LED on the input side
- A phototransistor on the output side
When the LED is energized, the phototransistor conducts, allowing signal transfer across an isolation barrier without any electrical connection.
The PC817 is commonly used in microcontroller, Arduino, SMPS, and industrial electronics for signal isolation, level shifting, and noise protection.
