MQ303A Alcohol Sensor

The MQ303A Alcohol Sensor is a semiconductor gas sensor designed to detect alcohol vapor (ethanol) in the air. It uses a sensitive metal oxide (typically tin dioxide, SnO?) sensing element whose resistance changes when exposed to alcohol molecules. This change in resistance can be measured and correlated to the presence of alcohol vapor. The sensor includes a heater to bring the sensing material to its optimal operating temperature and is commonly used in breath alcohol detection, safety systems, and embedded electronics projects.
