The MQ-2 Gas Sensor is a semiconductor gas sensor designed to detect flammable gases and smoke in the air. It uses a tin dioxide (SnO?) sensing element whose resistance changes when exposed to gases such as LPG, propane, methane, hydrogen, and smoke. The sensor includes an integrated heater to maintain the required operating temperature and provides an analog output that varies with gas concentration. The MQ-2 is widely used in basic gas leakage detection, smoke sensing, and safety monitoring applications.
