MQ3 Alcohol Gas Sensor Module
The MQ-3 Alcohol Gas Sensor Module is a semiconductor gas sensor board designed to detect alcohol vapor (ethanol) in the air. It uses a sensitive tin dioxide (SnO?) sensing element whose resistance changes when exposed to alcohol molecules. The module includes an integrated heater to bring the sensing element to its optimal operating temperature, and provides an analog output that varies with alcohol concentration. Many versions of this module also include a digital output with an adjustable threshold for simple gas-presence detection. It’s widely used in DIY projects, safety systems, and applications requiring basic alcohol vapor sensing.
