74HC159 4 line to 16 line decoder/demultiplexer Dip 16 IC
The 74HC159 is a 4-line to 16-line decoder/demultiplexer belonging to the 74HC high-speed CMOS logic family. It takes a 4-bit binary input and decodes it into one of 16 active LOW outputs.
This IC also features an active LOW enable input (G), allowing the outputs to be disabled (all HIGH) when not needed. The device operates over a wide voltage range (2V–6V) and provides high noise immunity, low power consumption, and fast switching speed.
Unlike the 74HC154 (which has two enables), the 74HC159 includes open-collector outputs, making it ideal for wired-AND logic or driving LEDs and relays with external pull-up resistors.
