AD736 True RMS to DC Converter IC
The AD736 is a low-power, precision True RMS-to-DC converter IC designed by Analog Devices to measure the true root-mean-square (RMS) value of AC or complex waveform signals. It provides an accurate DC output voltage proportional to the RMS value of the input, regardless of waveform shape (sine, square, triangular, or distorted).
Unlike average-responding converters, the AD736 delivers a true RMS measurement, making it ideal for systems requiring precise AC voltage or current monitoring — even in the presence of noise or harmonic distortion. It features low power consumption, wide input range, and excellent accuracy in a compact 8-pin DIP or SOIC package.
