CD4017 Decade Counter IC SMD Package 

The CD4017 is a CMOS-based decade counter and divider integrated circuit that counts clock pulses and sequentially activates one of ten decoded outputs. It operates as a Johnson counter with built-in output decoding, meaning each clock pulse advances the HIGH logic level from one output to the next in order (Q0 to Q9). Only one output is HIGH at any given time, making it ideal for sequencing, timing, and counting applications. The IC includes clock, reset, and clock enable controls for flexible operation. With low power consumption, high noise immunity, and a wide operating voltage range, the CD4017 is well suited for digital control systems, LED chasers, and event counting. The SMD package allows compact and space-efficient PCB designs.
