DS12C887 Real Time Clock RTC IC

The DS12C887 is a fully integrated real-time clock (RTC) module that provides time-of-day clock, calendar, and alarm functions with non-volatile battery-backed operation. It is a drop-in replacement for the popular DS12887, commonly used in PC motherboards and industrial embedded systems.

This device integrates the RTC controller, quartz crystal, lithium battery, and CMOS RAM into a single 24-pin module, eliminating the need for external components. It maintains accurate timekeeping of seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year, including automatic leap-year compensation. Even when system power is off, the internal battery keeps the clock and memory running for many years.
