LM2596-12 (IL2596-12) 3A 12V Fixed Voltage Regulator IC TO-220-5L Package 

The LM2596-12 (also known as IL2596-12) is a high-efficiency step-down (buck) switching voltage regulator designed to provide a fixed 12V output with up to 3A output current. Unlike linear regulators, it uses switching regulation technology, which greatly improves efficiency and reduces heat dissipation, making it ideal for power supply and DC-DC conversion applications.

This IC integrates the switching transistor, oscillator, control, and protection circuitry into a single package, requiring only a few external components to build a complete high-efficiency DC-DC converter.
