MQ2 Flammable Gas and Smoke Sensor Module
The MQ-2 Gas Sensor Module is a low-cost semiconductor gas sensor board designed to detect flammable gases and smoke in the air. It uses a tin dioxide (SnO?) sensing element whose electrical resistance changes when exposed to target gases such as LPG, propane, hydrogen, methane, and smoke. The module includes a built-in heater to bring the sensing element to its optimal operating temperature and provides an analog output (and often a digital output) for easy interfacing with microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi (with an ADC). The MQ-2 is widely used in gas leak detection and basic air quality monitoring projects.
