MQ8 Hydrogen H2 Gas Sensor
The MQ?8 Hydrogen (H?) Gas Sensor is a low?cost semiconductor gas sensor designed to detect hydrogen gas concentrations in air. It uses a sensitive tin dioxide (SnO?) sensing layer whose resistance changes in the presence of hydrogen. The sensor typically comes with a built?in heating element that brings the sensing material to an optimal operating temperature. As hydrogen concentration increases, the sensor’s resistance decreases, allowing simple interfacing with microcontrollers or analog circuits. The MQ?8 is commonly used in safety, monitoring, and industrial applications for basic hydrogen leak detection.
