Description

UC3854 High Power Factor Preregulator IC

The UC3854 is a high-performance Power Factor Correction (PFC) controller IC, designed by Texas Instruments, used to achieve near-unity power factor and tight output voltage regulation in AC-to-DC converter systems. It implements average current mode control, ensuring sinusoidal input current in phase with the input voltage — dramatically improving power efficiency and reducing harmonic distortion (THD).

Widely used in off-line switching power supplies, industrial equipment, and computer power systems, the UC3854 integrates all the necessary control and protection features to build an efficient boost-type PFC pre-regulator stage.
