74HC148 8 to 3 Line Priority Encoder IC (74148) DIP 16 Package
The 74HC148 is a high-speed CMOS 8-to-3 line priority encoder IC designed for digital systems requiring binary encoding of multiple active inputs. It takes eight active LOW input lines (I0–I7) and encodes the highest-priority active input into a 3-bit binary code on its outputs (A0–A2).
The IC features active LOW outputs, including a group select (GS) and enable outputs (EO, EI) for cascading multiple devices, making it ideal for interrupt control, keyboard encoding, and data prioritization in microprocessor and digital logic systems.
Manufactured using advanced CMOS technology, the 74HC148 offers low power consumption, high noise immunity, and fast switching performance while maintaining compatibility with both TTL and CMOS logic levels. The DIP-16 package allows easy use in prototyping, breadboards, and circuit boards.
