The 74LS153 is a Dual 4-to-1 Line Data Selector / Multiplexer IC from the 74LS TTL (Low Power Schottky) logic family.
It contains two independent 4-input multiplexers, each capable of selecting one of four data inputs (D0–D3) and passing it to a single output based on two select inputs (S0, S1).
Each multiplexer also has an independent enable input (active LOW).
When the enable input is LOW, the selected data is passed to the output; when HIGH, the output is forced LOW.
The IC is commonly used for data routing, signal multiplexing, logic function generation, and digital control systems.

Functional Description
Each multiplexer section of the 74LS153 selects one of four data inputs to pass to the output based on the binary value of the select inputs (S1, S0).
Both multiplexers share the same select lines but have independent data inputs, outputs, and enable signals.
- Enable (G) LOW ? Normal operation (output follows selected input)
- Enable (G) HIGH ? Output forced LOW
