74LS244 Octal 3 State Buffer/Line Driver IC (74244) DIP 20 Package
The 74LS244 is an Octal 3-State Buffer/Line Driver IC from the 74LS (Low Power Schottky TTL) logic family.
It contains eight non-inverting buffers arranged as two groups of four buffers, each with its own enable input.
The IC provides high current drive capability, low power consumption, and three-state (tri-state) outputs, allowing multiple devices to share a common data bus without conflict.
When the enable input is LOW, the corresponding outputs are active; when HIGH, the outputs go into high-impedance (Hi-Z) state, effectively disconnecting from the bus.
This makes the 74LS244 ideal for bus driving, buffering, and isolation in microprocessor or memory-based digital systems.
