MCT62 IC Dual Channel Phototransistor Optocoupler IC
The MCT62 is a dual-channel phototransistor optocoupler designed to provide robust and reliable galvanic isolation between two independent input-output signal pairs.
Each channel integrates an infrared emitting diode (IRED) on the input side and a silicon NPN phototransistor on the output side.
When current flows through one of the LEDs, the phototransistor of that same channel becomes activated, enabling safe and isolated signal transfer without any direct electrical connection.
The device is built in a compact DIP-8 through-hole package, making it convenient for prototyping, PCB designs, and industrial applications.
Its dual-channel configuration allows designers to isolate two separate signals within the same IC, reducing board space and improving system integration and reliability.
The MCT62 is optimized for low-speed digital signals and low-frequency analog applications up to a few kHz.
It features a high isolation voltage (typically 5 kVrms), providing strong protection between low-voltage circuitry (such as microcontrollers, sensors, or logic boards) and high-voltage or noisy environments (like power electronics, relays, and industrial machinery).
It also offers stable Current Transfer Ratio (CTR), ensuring predictable performance over temperature variations and LED current ranges.
Due to its robust electrical isolation and noise immunity, the MCT62 is widely implemented in industrial automation, motor control, communication interfaces, instrumentation, and switching regulators.
