The MOC3051 is an optoisolator with a phototriac output, designed to safely interface low-voltage digital control signals with high-voltage AC loads. It consists of an infrared LED input and a light-activated phototriac output, offering galvanic isolation between the control side and the AC side.
Unlike the MOC304x series, the MOC305x series does not include zero-cross detection, allowing the triac to fire immediately when triggered, making it suitable for phase-control applications such as dimming or motor speed control.
