IR2153 Self Oscillating Half Bridge Driver IC DIP 8 Package
The IR2153 is a self-oscillating half-bridge gate driver IC designed for driving high-side and low-side N-channel MOSFETs in half-bridge power converter applications. It combines a high-voltage gate driver, oscillator, dead-time control, and level-shift circuitry into a single compact device, enabling simple and cost-effective designs.
The internal oscillator generates complementary gate drive signals with a fixed dead time, eliminating the need for an external PWM controller. The high-side driver uses a bootstrap technique, allowing operation in offline and high-voltage systems. Packaged in a DIP-8 through-hole package, the IR2153 is well suited for prototyping, educational use, and industrial power electronics.
