MOC8104 Transistor Output Optocoupler IC
The MOC8104 is a high-sensitivity phototransistor optocoupler designed to provide robust electrical isolation between low-voltage control circuitry and high-voltage or noisy systems.
It contains:
- An infrared LED (input side)
- A high-gain phototransistor (output side)
When the input LED is energized, the phototransistor conducts, enabling signal transfer across the isolation barrier without any physical electrical connection.
The MOC8104 features a very high Current Transfer Ratio (CTR)—higher than MOC8101 and MOC8102—making it suitable for applications requiring extremely sensitive signal detection or very low LED drive current.
It is commonly used in industrial control, SMPS feedback, sensor isolation, and microcontroller-based systems.
