Optical Liquid Level Sensor
An optical liquid level sensor detects the presence or absence of a liquid at a specific point without moving parts. It typically uses an infrared LED and a photo-detector inside a sensing head. When the sensor tip is in air, light is reflected differently than when the tip is immersed in liquid. The change in received light alters the electrical output, allowing the sensor to signal whether the liquid has reached the detection point. Optical sensors are compact, reliable, and suitable for automation and safety systems where precise liquid presence detection is needed, such as pump control, tank monitoring, and fluid handling.
