The Sharp PC923 in SOP-8 SMD package is a high-performance OPIC (Optical IC) photocoupler designed for fast, reliable, and noise-immune signal isolation in compact electronic systems. OPIC technology integrates a photodiode and amplifier circuit into a single monolithic chip, enabling significantly faster response and higher stability than conventional phototransistor-based optocouplers.
The PC923 consists of an infrared LED on the input side coupled to a high-sensitivity photodetector IC that produces a clean digital output. This architecture allows the device to support high-speed data transmission, improved linearity, and excellent Common-Mode Transient Immunity (CMTI).
With its SOP-8 surface-mount package, the PC923 is ideal for modern PCB designs that require compact size, automated assembly, and reduced board space while still offering high isolation performance.
