The 74LS245 is an Octal 3-State Bidirectional Bus Transceiver IC from the 74LS (Low Power Schottky TTL) family.
It is designed for two-way (bidirectional) data communication between two buses — typically a CPU data bus and a memory or peripheral bus.

It features eight bidirectional data lines (A1–A8 and B1–B8), a direction control pin (DIR), and an output enable pin (OE) for tri-state control.
The direction pin determines the data flow direction, while the OE pin controls whether the outputs are active or in high-impedance (Hi-Z) state.
