Description
HT9170D Holtek DTMF Receiver 3.58 MHz Resonator 2.5 V to 5.5 V SOP 18 SMD

The HT9170D from Holtek Semiconductor is a DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency) receiver IC designed to detect and decode the tone signals generated by a telephone keypad. Operating with a 3.58 MHz crystal or ceramic resonator, the IC converts analog DTMF signals into 4-bit binary codes, providing a digital interface for microcontrollers or logic circuits.

Housed in a compact SOP-18 surface-mount package, the HT9170D operates over a wide supply range of 2.5V to 5.5V, making it ideal for telecommunication, security, and remote control applications.

Features

  • Full DTMF decoding (16 tone-pair detection)
  • Built-in differential input amplifier with high sensitivity
  • CMOS digital output (4-bit code) compatible with microcontrollers
  • On-chip oscillator requires only a 3.579545 MHz resonator
  • Wide operating voltage range: 2.5V to 5.5V
  • Low power consumption for battery-operated systems
  • High noise immunity and stable frequency operation
  • Binary decoded outputs with data valid indicator (DV)
  • Standard SOP-18 SMD package for compact PCB layouts

Applications

  • Caller ID and telephone tone decoding systems
  • Telecommunication control interfaces
  • DTMF-based remote control and automation
  • Security access and entry systems
  • Robotics and signaling systems
  • Voice response or call routing equipment
  • Home automation and alarm systems
