The UC3843 is a high-performance current-mode PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) controller IC designed for use in switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) and DC-DC converter applications. It integrates all the essential control and protection functions required to build efficient, low-cost power converters with a minimal number of external components.

Using current-mode control, the UC3843 provides fast transient response, improved loop stability, and inherent cycle-by-cycle current limiting. The IC includes an internal oscillator, high-gain error amplifier, current sense comparator, undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and a high-current output stage capable of directly driving power MOSFETs or bipolar transistors. The DIP-8 through-hole package makes it ideal for prototyping, educational use, and easy PCB assembly.
